With over 15 years’ experience in the exploration and mining industry, Ashley has worked throughout North and South America; as an Exploration Geologist with Bridgeport Ventures Inc. in Nevada, and on both exploration and underground projects with QuadraFNX Mining Ltd. (now KGHM International) in Sudbury, Ontario. Ashley is a co-founder of Orix Geoscience and her accomplishments include an active role in growing Orix from a start-up to a successful and sustainable business. Ashley is known for her leadership and creative problem solving.

Ashley also enjoys camping and cycling while travelling.

Shastri Ramnath
M.Sc.

Co-founder, Non-Executive Chair

With 25 years’ global exploration and mining experience, Shastri’s career highlights include her contribution to FNX’s exploration team who discovered the Victoria Deposit in Sudbury and her achievement of incubating and growing Orix Geoscience from a start-up to a successful and sustainable business. Shastri is known for her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for geological interpretation.

Shastri put herself through university by lifeguarding and teaching kids to swim.

Orest Zajcew
PhD, CFA

Chief Financial Officer

Orest joined the Toronto office in June 2018. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial sector, he has worked as both Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary for numerous TSX, TSX.V and CSE listed exploration companies including Discovery Metals, Ryan Gold, and Corona Gold. Orest received his doctorate in Political Science from the University of Toronto in 1998 and has been a CFA charter holder since 2001.

As the CFO, Orest is always the life of the party!

Michaela Kuuskman
B.A.Sc., P.Geo

Vice President of Finance & Projects

Prior to joining Orix in 2014, Michaela worked for Transition Metals Corp. on exploration projects in Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Nunavut. Michaela’s strong business leadership skills help her play a key role in business development at Orix. She earned her B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University and is a 2007 Loran Scholar from the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation.

Michaela has also been part of Girl Guides for 17 years.

Julia Singh
B.Sc., P.Geo

Vice President of Business Development

Since joining the Winnipeg office in 2014, Julia has led large-scale QAQC, historical database management and data organization projects. With over 15 years’ of exploration experience in lithium, gold and base metals, Julia began her career in 2008 with Wildcat Exploration before joining Zone 14 GeoInfo Solutions. Julia plays a key role in Orix’s business development; planning and executing multi-phased programs and special projects. She earned her B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and holds a professional designation in Manitoba.

Julia is also an avid wine connoisseur.

Craig Fitchett
M.Sc., P.Geo

Chief Geologist

Craig joined the Sudbury office in 2013 with over 15 years’ of project experience in Ontario, Manitoba, Nunavut, and Western Australia. He’s led grassroots and brownfield exploration efforts for Archean gold, VMS base metals and Ni-Cu-PGE deposits. Previously, he worked with Wallbridge Mining, Detour Lake Gold, BM Geological Services and spent time as an independent consultant. Craig earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geology from Laurentian University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

Craig also has a love for hunting and the outdoors.

Jonathan Cirelli
B.Sc., P.Geo (PGO, OGQ)

Director of Technical Services

Jonathan joined Orix in 2017 and has over 15 years’ in critical metals and gold. Jonathan’s work is industry-focused with experience in both underground and open pit mines. His expertise in mining operations, 3D modelling, and resource estimation is valuable for Orix’s business partners’ projects. Jonathan has worked for KGHM International, Queenston Mining, and Glencore. He earned a B.Sc. in Geology from Laurentian University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist with PGO in Ontario and a Géologue with OGQ in Québec.

Jonathan is also an amateur woodworker.

Paige Giddy
B.Sc.

Director of Geomatics

Based out of the Nova Scotia satellite office, Paige has been with Orix since day one and is a Co-Founder. With over 15 years’ of project experience, Paige has helped build the company and worked on multiple field projects in North America. Previously, Paige has worked with QuadraFNX Mining Inc. (now KGHM International) in Sudbury, Ontario on both the Levack and Victoria projects, and spent time on the exploration team for Bridgeport Ventures in Reno, Nevada. Paige earned a B.Sc. in Geology from Acadia University and an Advanced Diploma in GIS from the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS).

Paige is also a yoga master.

Dan Piotrowski

Director of Human Resources, Senior Generalist

Dan joined the Toronto office in 2017 to oversee HR-related functions including employee relations, health and safety, recruitment, benefits, as well as engagement and development initiatives. He believes taking care of your people will ultimately take care of your business. Dan earned a BA from the University of Western Ontario and completed a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from Humber College.

Justin Bernard
B.Sc., P.Geo

Senior Project Geologist - Operations

Justin joined the Sudbury office in 2014 and has over 15 years’ of project experience in gold, base, and critical metals on projects throughout Ontario, Nunavut, Atlantic Canada, and Guyana. Justin previously worked with Sandspring Resources, Geodex Minerals, Orex Exploration and Miramar Mining.  His expertise focuses on grassroots to advanced exploration and integrating large historical datasets into new geological interpretations. Justin earned a B.Sc. in Geology from the university of New Brunswick and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

Justin is an amateur yet avid gardener.

Laura Winter
B.Sc., P.Geo

Senior Project Geologist

Laura joined the Winnipeg office in 2014 with over 15 years’ experience on multiple exploration projects throughout Canada. Laura previously worked with Claude Resources, Rainy River Resources, Osisko Hammond Reef Gold (formerly Brett Resources), and Grassroots Syndicate. Laura earned a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and a B.Sc. in Physical Geography from the University of Winnipeg and holds her professional designation in Manitoba.

Laura is also a big fan of The Winnipeg Jets.

Laura Katz
PhD, P.Geo

Senior Project Geologist

Laura joined the Sudbury office in 2020 with over 8 years’ of experience in gold exploration. She previously worked for Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. and IAMGOLD Corporation where she gained experience in regional-scale mapping, trench mapping, interpretation, and managing drill programs. Her expertise is in magmatic-hydrothermal intrusion-related gold systems and alteration lithogeochemistry. Laura earned a B.Sc. Earth Sciences from Carleton University and a Ph.D. Mineral Deposits and Precambrian Geology from Laurentian University. Laura is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

Laura is also an avid gardener.

Camille Spencer
B.Sc. (Hons)

Senior Geology Specialist - Geophysics, Independent Associate

Camille joined the Toronto office in 2012 with a wealth of expertise in exploration target generation via the integration of geophysics, image processing, spectral analysis of alteration in outcrop and bore hole core, and geochemical data. Camille has worked on projects in South Africa, South America, and Canada, and was part of the team that discovered the Corriente Copper Belt in Ecuador – a grassroots exploration program that has resulted in the delineation of 23 billion pounds of copper resources. Camille was also an integral part of the team that reinterpreted drilling data from a major mining company which which resulted in the 3.3-million-ounce gold discovery at Quimsacocha in Ecuador. Camille lived in Ecuador for 10 years, where she learned to speak Spanish fluently and prior to joining Orix worked for DeBeers, Gencor, BHP Billiton, and Iamgold. Camille holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geophysics from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

Camille also has a mean ace on the tennis court.

Mike Kilbourne
B.Sc. (Hons), P.Geo

Senior Geology Specialist, Independent Associate

Mike Kilbourne has over 35 years’ experience in the mining industry exploring for precious and base metals within Canadian greenstone belts. Mike also has significant experience in mining with underground narrow vein, underground bulk and open-pit production in gold, open-pit production and short/long term mine planning in the aggregate industry. Prior to joining Orix, Mike worked for BP Minerals, BP Selco, Minroc Management, Royal Oak Mines, Mine Development Associates, Lehigh Cement, and Billiken Management. He also held the positions of President for White Pine Resources, VP of Exploration for Goldstone Resources, and Senior Geologist for Superior Copper. Mike was part of the team on the discovery hole of the Eagle’s Nest Ni-Cu-PGE Deposit in 2007 in the ‘Ring of Fire’ for Noront Resources.

Mike enjoys a good hunting season and rides on his motorcycle.

Ali Ghorbani
M.Sc., P.Geo

Project Geologist - Structural Geology

Ali joined the Sudbury office in 2015. His 17 years’ of experience in Iran and Ontario is predominantly on structural and geological mapping, identifying structural controls on ore deposits. His expertise focuses on hydrothermal deposits at regional and deposit scales and geometric-kinematic analysis of faults and shear zones, as well as geological-structural interpretations using airborne magnetic surveys. Ali earned a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Birjand, Iran and an M.Sc. in Structural Geology from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran.

Ali also likes to rock a costume and makes a fantastic eggplant dish.

Sam Grasis
B.Sc. (Hons), P.Geo

Project Geologist

Sam joined the Sudbury office in 2017 now with almost 10 years’ experience in underground gold environments as well as several base metal exploration projects in Ontario and Quebec. Prior to Orix, Sam worked for Detour Gold, Wallbridge Mining, and Primero Mining with a focus definition and delineation drilling as well as core logging. Sam earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from Laurentian University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.
Sam also enjoys writing and playing heavy metal music.

Natalie Chu
M.Sc., P.Geo

Project Geologist

Natalie joined the Toronto office in 2012 and has 9 years’ experience, having worked on several exploration projects in Northern Ontario and Nunavut with a focus on integrating large historical geological datasets and geochemical QAQC. Natalie earned both a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geoscience, Physical and Environmental Geography, and a M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Toronto and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario. She currently sits on the PDAC Technical Planning Committee.

Natalie is also a foodie guru.

Alexa Dettman
B.Sc., GIT

Project Geologist

Alexa joined the Winnipeg office in 2014 with over 12 years’ experience on multiple exploration projects throughout Canada. Alexa previously worked for Zone 14 GeoInfo Solutions, Grassroots Syndicate, and Westman Exploration. She is experienced in QAQC, technical writing, database management, and data organization projects. Alexa earned a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and is working towards her professional designation in Manitoba.
Alexa has also ran over 20 half marathons.

Kyle Whitney
B.Sc., GIT

Project Geologist

Kyle joined Orix in 2015 and has 8 years’ experience in bedrock mapping within the Abitibi greenstone belt and Grenville province for the Ontario Geological Survey. He has work on several exploration programs in Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut, and has gained extensive experience in 2D and 3D compilations, and 3D wireframing. Kyle earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Sciences from Carleton University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

Kyle is also an aspiring word worker and avid gardener.

Christopher Watters
B.Sc., GIT

Project Geologist

Chris joined the Winnipeg office in 2016 and has over 10 years’ multi-commodity project experience including gold, lithium, base metal, PGE and uranium exploration in Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Quebec. Chris earned a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba, has a GIT certification with Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba, and is working towards his professional designation in Manitoba.

Christopher also rowed in the 2005 Canada Summer Games.

Sophie Michel
B.Sc., P.Geo (PGO, OGQ)

Project Geologist

Sophie joined the Sudbury office in 2019 with experience in base metal and gold projects in Ontario, Quebec, and Nunavut. She’s worked many summers for different companies such as the Ontario Geological Survey, Canadian Malartic, and Agnico Eagle. Sophie earned a bilingual B.Sc. in Geology and is working towards an M.Sc degree from the Harquail School of Earth Sciences of Laurentian University. She is registered as a P.Geo. in both Ontario and Quebec.

Sophie loves knitting, playing sports, and metal music.

Matchellon Pinheiro
B.Sc., GIT

Project Geologist

Matchellon joined the Toronto office in 2021 and has 10 years’ experience working in magmatic Ni-Cu-(PGE) sulfide deposit and orogenic gold deposit environments; alongside with field mapping and oriented core logging skills. He also has over 6 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry as an Oil Exploration Technician in Brazil. Matchellon earned a B.Sc. in Geology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and is working towards his professional designation in Ontario.

He also enjoys a good bake off.

Christal Hanuszczak
B.Sc., P.Geo

Project Geologist

Christal joined the Sudbury office in 2018 with almost 10 years’ experience in gold exploration. She previously worked for Canadian Malartic Corporation where she focussed on core logging and database management. Christal has worked in Ontario, Nunavut, and Quebec. Christal earned her B.Sc. in Geology from Laurentian University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

Christal has also met Margaret Atwood three times.

Tong Hong
Ph.D.

Geologist

Tong joined the Toronto office in 2023 and has over 6 years’ experience in regional-scale field bedrock mapping projects in collaboration with both China and Canada Geological Survey. She is highly skilled in structural geology, tectonics, basin stratigraphy, igneous petrology, geochemistry, and geochronology. While specializing in geometry modeling, kinematic analysis, and structural and geological interpretation to identify controls on ore deposits. Tong earned a B.Sc. (Dean’s Honours) in Science and Business in Earth Sciences, as well as a Ph.D. in Geology (Paleozoic Orogenic Evolution and Tectonics) from the University of Waterloo.

Tong is also a big fan of skiing and rock climbing.

Natascia Zuccarelli
M.Sc., P.Geo

Geologist

Natascia joined the Sudbury office in 2022, with experience in gold projects within the Timmins-Matheson gold corridor. She has a variety of work experience including surface exploration and drilling, field mapping and prospecting, 3D modelling, technical report writing, and underground experience. Natascia was previously employed at at Lake Shore Gold (Pan American Silver), Goldcorp (Newmont), McEwen Mining, and most recently High Gold Mining. She completed her M.Sc. degree from the Harquail School of Earth Sciences (Laurentian University) on sulfide textures within the Ni-Cu-(PGE) Eagle’s Nest deposit (Ring of Fire) in 2020, which has since been published as a journal article in Economic Geology. She is registered as a P.Geo in Ontario.

She also loves writing science fiction novels in her spare time.

Jurgen Kaminski
B.Sc. (Hons), GIT

Geologist

Jurgen Kaminski is a seasoned geologist with a diverse range of experience in the natural resources sector. Over the course of his career, he has worked in British Columbia, Labrador, Manitoba, Nunavut, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Quebec, gaining a deep understanding of the geological landscape across Canada. Jurgen’s expertise in geomagnetic drone surveys was honed during a two-year stint working on a variety of projects, including ilmenite mining and komatiite pipes. He also has extensive experience in core logging and mapping orogenic gold exploration geology, with five years of specialization in this field.

Jurgen graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba in 2014, where he focused on economic geology and geology deposits. During his studies, he gained a deep understanding of the mineral exploration process and honed his skills in mapping, sampling, and mineral identification.

Also, he has completed an impressive feat of a one-year circumnavigation of the globe by air and sea.

Daniel Gomez
B.Sc., GIT

Geologist

Daniel joined the Toronto office in 2022 with over 10 years’ experience in mapping, petrography, and geological laboratory techniques (XRD, XRF and SEM). Previously, he has worked for the Colombian Geological Survey and the Colombian National Mining Agency. In 2008 Daniel earned a B.Sc. in Geology from the National University of Colombia and is working towards his professional designation in Ontario.
Daniel is also an avid Dungeons & Dragons gamer.

Keane Tirona
M.Sc., GIT

Geologist

Keane joined the Toronto office in 2021 with experience in base metals production core logging in Northern Ontario. Since joining Orix, he has worked on active producing gold projects in Northern Ontario, as well as digitization and data compilation projects. Keane earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Toronto in Earth Sciences and is working towards his professional designation in Ontario.

Keane is also not Keane’s first name.

Ian Stampe

Geologist

Ian joined the Winnipeg office in 2019 with experience in digitization and data management at Manitoba Hydro. Since joining Orix, he has worked on claim staking projects in Bissett, MB, soil sampling programs in Northwestern Ontario, along with data entry and QAQC for drill programs and scanning projects. Ian earned his B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba and is working towards his professional designation in Manitoba.

Ian loves to play guitar and is a music enthusiast.

Edward Crisostomo
B.Sc. (Hons), GIT

Geologist

Edward joined the Toronto office in 2019 as a student geologist gaining knowledge with data entry, digitizing, and interpretation. Since then, Edward has earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Sciences from the University of Toronto Mississauga. After graduating, Edward joined the team as a full-time geologist in 2021, working on exploration programs in Quebec and Manitoba, and continues to gain a vast amount of knowledge in the field. Edward is working towards his professional designation in Ontario.

Edward also loves film photography.

Jeff Chouinard
B.Sc. (Hons), GIT

Geologist

Jeff joined the Sudbury office in 2021 with experience working in gold and base metal projects in Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Alaska. Prior to joining Orix he worked for SRK consulting where he gained extensive experience in geotechnical core logging and hydrogeology projects. Jeff completed his B.Sc. (Hons) at Brock University and is currently working towards his professional designation in Ontario.
Jeff also loves cross-country skiing and hiking local trails.

Claudia Bot
B.Sc. (Hons), GIT

Geologist

Claudia joined the Sudbury office in 2021 with previous experience in digitizing. Since joining Orix, she has been working on a drill program in Northern Ontario and has gained experience in core logging, digitizing, data entry and compilation, most recently gaining leadership experience in project management. Claudia earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geoscience from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and she is registered as a GIT, working towards her professional designation in Ontario.

Claudia also loves country music and building Lego.

Elton Moses
M.Sc.

Geologist

Elton joined the Sudbury team in 2021 with experience in geophysical and geological joint interpretation and coding (Python), working in Ontario and Nunavut. Since starting with Orix, he has gained experience in mineral exploration drill rig management, historical data compilation, and digitizing. Elton holds a M.Sc. in Geology from Laurentian University with his research project based on Integrated Geophysical and Geological Interpretation.

Elton also used to be a music producer.

Nosa Omoregie
B.Sc.

Geologist

Nosa joined the Winnipeg office in 2021 as an exploration geologist. Prior to joining Orix, he acquired invaluable experience in mineral exploration with GBR Geo Service in Snowlake, MB. Nosa obtained his B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba.
He also loves the adventure of travelling to new places.

Christian Plouffe
B.Sc. (Hons), GIT

Geologist

Christian joined the Winnipeg team in 2023 with previous experience in sedimentology and paleontology laboratory work at the University of Manitoba, along with geological mapping and prospecting work in Bissett, Manitoba. Since joining Orix, he has gained experience in core logging and georeferencing. Christian earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geological Sciences at the University of Manitoba and is working towards professional designation in Manitoba.

Christian is a passionate retro video game collector.

Shawn Mohammed

Geotechnician

Shawn joined the Winnipeg office in 2017 and has gained knowledge with core cutting, sampling, drill line ups, mapping and digitizing. He currently is our main geotechnician at one of our long-term clients in Manitoba.
He also has a love for learning to play various types of acoustic and electric guitars.

Aaron Francis
BA, GIS (PG)

Geomatics Supervisor - GIS Specialist & UAV Lead

Aaron joined the Toronto office in 2017 and specializes in systematically extracting and integrating large geological datasets into standardized and usable formats for the purposes of interpretation, target generation, and shareholder/investor communication. He is our lead UAV drone pilot, capturing high resolution data for further spatial analysis. Aaron earned a BA in Geography from Brock University and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems & Geospatial Management from Niagara College, and also holds an Advanced UAV certification. 

Aaron once worked as a backcountry canoe guide.

Giselle Schween

Senior GIS Specialist

Giselle joined the Winnipeg office in 2014 with over 40 years’ experience and special expertise in cartography and GIS mapping. After 26 years’ with Falconbridge Limited, Giselle co-founded Zone 14 GeoInfo Solutions and Grassroots Syndicate, a GIS focused consultant company known for their quality of work and culture. Orix and Zone 14 shared similar business values, which made for a mutually beneficial acquisition of Zone 14 by Orix in 2014. In March of 2013, Giselle received provincial recognition as a Co-Finalist for the Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Giselle has been enjoying quiet country living among the trees and wildlife on her lakefront property in NW Ontario since 2006.

Juan Carvajal
M.Sc.

Geologist, Geomatics Team

Juan joined the Toronto office in 2021 with over 8 years’ of experience in geological and geospatial projects, focusing on geological data management, analysis, presentation, and modelling for exploration purposes. He also has expertise in basin and structural analysis and geological modelling (2D and 3D). Juan holds an M.Sc. from the University of Alberta.

Emma Roberton
BA

GIS Analyst & UAV Pilot

Emma joined the Toronto office in 2018 with expertise in mapping and spatial analysis. As part of the GIS team, she specializes in extracting and analyzing large digital datasets, making them into a comprehensible and manageable format. Emma has earned a BA in Geography from the University of Guelph and a certificate in Crime Analytics from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). She is currently working on her advanced drone pilot license.

Emma loves crafting and is continuously seeking to learn new skills.

Jesse Carroll

Lead Geotechnician

Jesse joined the Sudbury office in 2015 with over eight years’ of experience in supporting mapping and drilling field projects in Ontario, Quebec, and Nunavut. Jesse’s multi-faceted skills include digitizing, core RQD and core cutting, drill lineups, prepping historical geological documents which are valuable assets to both our office and field teams. He also worked internationally in Morocco and the United States on large scanning projects, as well as working more with our Geomatics team; georeferencing maps and digitizing in ArcGIS. Jesse is a graduate of the Civil and Mining Engineering Technologist program at Collège Boréal in Sudbury.

Jesse is also a burger connoisseur.

Caylin Morgan

Geotechnician

Caylin joined the Sudbury office in 2019 upon graduating from the Mining Engineering Technician program at Cambrian College. As a geotechnician, Caylin applies her technical knowledge in multiple roles within the company such as a core technician and cutter on drill programs, as well as analyzing and prepping historical datasets on scanning projects.
Caylin spends most of her free time at camp on Manitoulin Island.

Danielle Garand

Sr. Geological Document Prepper & Scanning Technician

Danielle joined Orix in 2019 as a scanning technician and has gained vital skills including inventory prep, scanning, QAQC, data cleanup, and data analysis. She graduated with a degree in literature from Laurentian University.
Danielle is also an avid sewist and knitter.

Kayla Jones

Sr. Geological Document Prepper & Scanning Technician

Kayla joined the Sudbury office in 2019 as a key part of the scanning team. Her valued skillsets include document prepping and scanning. Along with her proficiency in editing, she is often proofreading various documents for Orix. Kayla earned her BASc from from the University of Guelph and her MSC at Laurentian University.
Kayla is also been known to do some action packed parkour.

Taryn Marshall

Sr. Geological Document Prepper & Scanning Technician

Taryn joined Orix in 2019 as a scanning technician and has since grown her skill sets to include all facets of the historical document scanning process including inventory, prepping, QAQC, data set clean up, and paper data organization. She also has gained experience outside of the scanning department working on geological data entry and data analysis. In the last year, she started gaining experience in the field, supporting a drill program with geoteching duties such as core cutting, assay sampling and prep, and core data collection. She holds an advanced diploma in classical music performance, and a certificate in environmental field techniques from Cambrian College.

She is also a sewist and loves fishing.

Howard Chen
B.Sc. (Hons)

Software Developer

Howard joined the Toronto office in 2021 with a background in computer science and software development. As a member of the O-Tech (Orix Technology) Team, he writes and manages data processing and data analytics software for internal and client goals. Howard earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
Howard is also an avid reader.

Robert Morden

IT Coordinator & Software Development Support

Rob joined the Sudbury office in 2014 with a Geology background in base metal exploration experience in Ontario, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Alaska, along with gold exploration in Ontario. With roots in exploration, but a passion for technology, Rob is now part of the innovative O-Tech (Orix Technology) Team focused on data analytics, data management, and writing bespoke software for both internal and client objectives. Rob earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from Laurentian University.

Rob is also a hockey goalie and mountain biker.

Frances MacVeigh
BA

Business Administrator – Special Projects

Frances joined the Sudbury office in 2016 with over 25 years’ experience on both mining exploration and mine development projects. On the Campo Morado deposit, in Guerrero State, Mexico, she managed camp logistics, contracts, budgets, training, and recruitment programs as well community development and liaison programs. Frances also co-founded and holds a director position of FR Mining Services de Mexico SA de CV in Hermosillo, Sonora. With her vastly skilled business background, Frances wears multiple hats and is our main guru of our administrative team. Frances earned her BA from Acadia University.

Frances is also hooked on British murder mysteries.

Amy Wong

Marketing & Logistics Coordinator

Amy joined the Toronto office in 2013 and uses her entrepreneurship, business management, organizational and administrative skills to focus on marketing initiatives such as conferences, internal events, social media, and strategic planning as well and travel coordination.

Amy took Fashion Arts and designed and owned her own clothing company.

Andy Lam

Financial Administrator & Bookkeeper

Andy joined the Toronto office in 2016. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, working in both Accounting and Treasury departments for Mercer, Vale, and ADP. Andy joined Orix at a pivotal time of growth, is part of the business team, and plays an important role in corporate strategic planning. Andy holds a Business Administration-Accounting Diploma from George Brown College.

Andy still drives a stick shift.

Isadora Maningo

Accounts Payable & Payroll Administrator

Isadora joined the Toronto office in 2021 and is part of the finance team, with an important role in accounts payable and payroll. Her previous background was in the Philippines working for non-profit organizations that helps provide IT education for deserving students. Isadora graduated from CDI College under the Accounting & Payroll program.
Isadora has also trekked one of the highest active volcanoes in the Philippines.

Lauren Vogel

Office Coordinator & Graphic Design

Lauren Joined the Winnipeg office in 2021 and uses her experience in coordinating, event planning, graphic design, and project management to support Orix in a variety of ways. She’s a Jill of all trades! Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, with a double major in Film Studies and Art History. Prior to Orix, Lauren used to be a Manitoba location scout for directors/producers from all of the top production companies from Focus Features to Netflix.

Lauren also loves horror movies and cooking.

Ashley Grasis

Administrative Assistant

Ashley joined the Orix team in August 2021 as part of the Sudbury Administrative Team. With her experience in office management, data entry and customer service, she helps support the Orix team in various ways. Ashley makes it her commitment to create a positive atmosphere in the office, always greeting staff and clients with a warm welcome and her willingness to help with any needs that may arise. She is passionate about event planning and coordination, showcasing her enthusiasm for bringing people together.

Ashley is also an avid board game enthusiast.
